Role and Responsibilities

  • Objective- To assist the site and project surveyor in the development of all pre and post contract strategies, commercial functions and contract reporting. Take accountability for personal and professional development of self.

  • Health & Safety - Regularly undertake site safety samples. Reviewing subcontract site safety samples with commercial and production management to develop understanding of process and obligations.

  • People - Ensure PDR's A&B, Training Manuals are regularly completed for self. Be open and receptive to feedback and demonstrate a willingness to change behaviour.

  • Leadership - Regularly ensure that personal key objectives are reviewed with line management. Create and regularly review personal action plans for project and personal related tasks. Regularly take part in customer plan reviews and demonstrate awareness of the "selling" process.

  • Finance / Budget and Performance Objectives- Developing accurate site records to assist in the measurement and valuation with regard to; Material and Plant Cost, COI and Day Works, Drawing and Specification revision, Develop an understanding of internal and external commercial strategies regard to minor sub-contract packages and on site prelims, Develop understanding of company obligations under main and sub contracts, develop understanding of subcontract procurement processes.

  • Customer - Develop understanding of company customer plans and brand selling. Communication confidently, professionally and positively face to face or non-verbally.

  • Process - Develop understanding of all company commercial processes and how these can be used to maximise returns to all its stakeholders. Develop understanding of the M&V process in order to support the production of monthly CVR's.

 

Qualifications and Experience

  • Knowledge of Construction Methods and Technology

  • Knowledge of Measurement, Valuation and Cost Control

  • Understanding of financial accounts and reports

  • Understanding of admistration of contract records

  • Sub-Contract materials orders and buying

  • Basic knowledge of contractual obligations

  • Interpersonal Skills and Basic Commercial Skills

  • Ability to form good working relationships

  • To hold or to be part way through obtaining an industry accredited degree
