Role and Responsibilities

  • Objective - Take accountability for the development, implementation of all pre and post contract strategies, commercial functions and contract reporting. Reporting into Managing Surveyor

  • Health & Safety - Regularly reviewing subcontract safety audits prior to payment authorisation, actively promote group SHE policies, Periodically undertake site safety samples, Ensure all subcontract documentation is SHE Group policy compliant.

  • People - Ensure PDR's A&B, training manuals are completed regularly for report and self, Provide or organise training on group policies and best practices where appropriate, developing and encouraging project team performance.

  • Leadership - Ensure all team Members understand project accountabilities and objectives, regularly reviewing project accountabilities, Regularly monitor project objectives facilitating a change in process where appropriate.

  • Cost Reconciliation - Regularly reviewing group CR policies and ensuring project teams are updated, Liaising with client and project teams to maximise group CR policies and opportunities.

  • Finance and Performance Objectives - Demonstrating understanding of internal and external tender strategies, Ensure Company main contractual obligations and or strategies are executed and regularly reviewed, Agree and implementing project strategies with all relevant parties, Agree external valuations to maximise project value, Ensure all company sub contract management and process obligations are complete with particular reference to: Procurement, Measurement and Valuation, Contractual Instruction, Notices and Orders, Health and Safety, Complete and Submit business unit report, Monthly MCR, Procurement Reports, Progress reports with Project Manager

  • Interaction with the project team to maximise project procurement, production and commercial strategies.

  • Agree and produce main and sub-contract final accounts with Surveying Manager.

  • Customer - Contribution to the development of customer plans and selling the company brand and services to all project parties, Developing beneficial relationships with clients and all consultants, Demonstrating understanding of business issues that affect project consultant teams

  • Process - Ensuring all contractual processes are completed on time, Implementation of project strategies to maximise: Turnover, Cash, Profit, Customer Satisfaction, Repeat Busines

 

Qualifications and Experience

  • Knowledge of Construction Methods and technologies, Measurement and Valuation, Sub Contract Orders and Buying, Company Contractual Position, Claims and L&E

  • Skills: Ability to form and develop relationships with client, design team and supply chain, Strong commercial skills to maximise value recovery, cost control and cash management.

  • Ability to use financial reports and final accounts.

  • Ability to develop commercial site teams.

  • MRICS or MCIOB

  • Relevant Msc or BA Hons in Quantity Surveying or Similar
