Role and Responsibilities

  • Objective - Take accountability for the development and implementation of all pre and post contract strategies, commercial functions and contract reporting on delegated projects and or works packages.

  • Health & Safety - Regularly promote and ensure compliance with group SHE Policy. Regularly undertake site safety samples, Review Sub-Contractor safety samples with production management prior to certifying payments.

  • People - Ensure PDR's A&B, training manuals are completed regularly for reports and self. Prepared to take up development opportunities outside of surveying expertise. Regularly review the work of self and others to enhance results

  • Leadership - Demonstrate personal drive and commitment to do a good job and get the right result, actively reviewing the customer plans and using own experience to improve company service and performance.

  • Cost Reporting - Demonstrate an understanding of own project CR strategies and policies. Initiating creative and practical ideas that will enhance own project CR impact.

  • Finance and Performance Objectives - Demonstrate understanding of internal and external tender strategies and build up, Demonstrating intermediate awareness of main contract risk/opportunities, contribution to project commercial strategies and taking ownership for own sub-contract packages, demonstrate clear understanding of Sub-Contract T&C's relevant to main contract.

  • Ensuring company M&V obligations are complete for relevant subcontract and main contract packages.

  • Contributing relevant project procurement strategies with particular reference to: Issuing tender enquiries, Package Reconciliations, Production of Subcontract Orders

  • Maximise project cash/value by effective management of subcontract packages.

  • Manage and complete relevant subcontract and main contract contractual records including production of claims and final accounts.

  • Customer -Demonstrating understanding of client and consultant drivers, creating strategies to enhance company offer to customer, Developing positive relationships with customers and consultants.

  • Process - Regularly reviewing company policies and practices, demonstrating personal drive and commitment to do a good job ad achieve the right result, making good quality decisions and understanding the importance of making profit and maximising opportunity.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Knowledge of construction methods and technology, measurement and valuation, administration of contract methods, sub contract and materials orders and buying, company obligations under the contract, claims, loss and expense

  • Ability to form and develop relationships with Project Surveyor, design team and supply chain.

  • Commercial skills, maximising value recovery, cost control and cash management.

  • Good Interpersonal skills.

  • Understanding of financial reports and final accounts.

  • MSc or BA Hons in Quantity Surveying or Similar
